Being a part of the food allergy community, I often hear of tragic stories that weigh hard on my heart. This month, two young men have lost their lives to a food allergic reaction. And even though I don't personally know them or their family, I silently send prayers their way. (Tyler Davis, Jharell Dillard).
In just takes an instant my friends, and your life can change forever and suddenly you are traveling down a different path. And instead of it being well-beaten and smooth, there aren't even any footprints to guide you. Even though this isn't the right path and it isn't the one that you wanted, you take it and hope that someday you will look back and see a clear path where you've managed to make your way. There may still be potholes from time to time, but you've made it through. One step at a time.
This is what I hope for the families that have recently lost a loved one, that someday their path will become smoother and life will unfold around them, enveloping them in a sweet bliss that reminds them of the loved ones that they have lost.
Because the ones we love, that touch our lives everyday, are the people who make our life sparkle. They make our life sweeter and our days brighter.
Here's a big thanks to all of my friends and family, you all hold a special place in my heart and my life is better with you in it.
A huge thanks to my husband who is an awesome advocate for our daughter Sophie, who has life-threatening allergies. She makes our whole life shine.
Hold the ones you love, tight, and remember that life is ever-changing. Be in the moment as much as you can. Take a moment tonight to spend even longer in the bliss of each other's company and send some prayers across the world because the whole world and everyone in it could use a lot more love, a lot more hugs and a lot more compassion.
Big thanks to each of these organizations that offer support to families with food allergies.
