My name is Heather and I have been gluten free since March of 2008. I found out that I have celiac disease through a test from Entero Labs. My daughter and husband also are gluten free.
Our daughter, Sophie, had dermatitis herpetiformis, which is a rash that some people with celiac disease have. We thought that going gluten free would clear her rashes up completely, but we have found out since then that she has eczema and allergies. She has allergies to both food and environmental factors. She is allergic to dust, dust mites and artificial fragrances. Her food allergies range from mild to severe and include some of the top allergens (tree nuts, sesame, etc).
We're having fun on our journey with gluten-free, grain-free and allergy-free cooking and crafting and I hope you enjoy the recipes that we've created and find the recipes and information on my blog helpful to you!
On my blog, you will find a wealth of information about being gluten free with allergies. Because, for some people like us, it is more complex than just eliminating gluten from the diet.
Please, feel free to contact me with any questions or comments that you may have. I'd love to hear from you! :)
